Autonomy: The ability of an intelligent agent to explore the possibilities for action and decide “what to do next” with little or no human involvement, even in unstructured situations where there exists significant uncertainty
Agent: A self-activating, self-sufficient and persistent computation that is capable of modifying the manner in which it achieves objectives and fulfills its purpose
Trust: a human mental state, resulting from cognitive and affective evaluative processes that creates a disposition thereby enabling an intent and (possibly) a decision leading to action to become reliant upon another agent (human or machine). The mental state of trust reflects a continuing cognitive and emotional evaluative process that in essence is an assessment and acceptance of the risks entailed in becoming dependent on another agent.
